What’s Impossible with 17 Day Diet

“The only difference between me and someone who’s not 100% raw is what I think and feel. I label that the “100% raw food diet mindset.” One of the things I learned is that it’s difficult or almost impossible to learn how to go 100% raw from someone who is not 100% raw themselves. I’d go to raw food support group meetings in New York City. Some of the leaders at the time were 100% raw and some were not. It’s not to me. It’s a totally natural part of my life. I’m not constantly thinking, “I wish I could have cooked food.” I can go out to restaurants. The last time I went out to a restaurant was my friend’s birthday. We were at a steakhouse. I blogged about this and put up some pictures. It was weird. This time I barely even noticed the cooked food they were who were 100% raw to be 100% raw. If anyone came to live with me, they would not have a problem staying raw. Sometimes I have friends over who stay raw. I went to visit my father, and he said, “I’m going to stay 100% raw.” While I was there, he was 100% raw or pretty close. Sometimes he had a little swig of orange juice which was pasteurized. I guess he didn’t quite grasp the importance. Let’s talk a little bit about social situations with friends and family. That’s usually one of the reasons why people don’t totally change their diet. They want to have that possibility. Let’s say they’re meeting with their friends. They can order something at the restaurant easily if they’re not 100% raw. How do you work around that? My first thought on that is if you have social problems, you still have a cooked food addiction. That’s the bottom line. There are some helpful strategies to know. “…if you have social problems, you still have a cooked food addiction.” Would it be the end of the world if you missed a meal? Isn’t it It may not be the best strategy, but I prepare ahead of time and get full, so when I go to a restaurant, I’ll be pretty happy with just a simple salad. I can also do a little research on the restaurant to see what they have. One time I went to this Thai food restaurant. These guys were having a hard time understanding what I wanted. I said, “Look at all of these vegetables. I want them, but not cooked.” We dug up all sorts of vegetables that they used and made a custom little dish for more.
